Chapter President, 2019-2020
Former Chairman of the Board, 2017-2018
Charlotte Crown Realtist Association
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the President of the Charlotte Crown Realtist Association, a local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). NAREB is the oldest minority trade association and promotes “democracy in housing.” NAREB’s national goal is to create 2 million new Black homeowners. NAREB understand that the disparity in homeownership numbers along racial and ethnic lines is unacceptable. I look forward to creating greater awareness about the Chapter’s work, help our membership grow in their businesses, and educate the community about home ownership.
Michael Hoard was born and raised on Chicago’s southside and relocated with his family to Charlotte in 2015. He is the owner of Hoard Law, P.C., a firm which focuses on residential real estate transactions, but also assist with bankruptcies and personal injuries. The firm has locations here in Charlotte and Chicago, Illinois. Attorney Hoard is in his 20th year of practice. He has been a prosecutor, college instructor, corporate attorney, real estate broker and private practitioner within those years. Throughout his career, he has made consequential differences in thousands of lives over decades.
Michael Hoard’s humble beginnings have honed him into someone who cares about the community and gives freely to pull others upward. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. He is a Committee member of Charlotte Regional Realtor Association’s Housing Opportunity Foundation. Attorney Hoard also sits on the Board of the B.E.A.M. foundation, which sponsors a number of programs aimed to encourage scholarship and improved lives for young Black men in elementary, junior high and high school.
Attorney Hoard’s most important things in his life are his beautiful wife Naura and his two beautiful girls. Family is extremely important, but the sacrifices that he makes for the community are inescapable parts of his character and upbringing.
I look forward to working in Charlotte to improve the lives of Blacks and helping families make that first step toward wealth.
